Humax, a well-established mobility platform provider, has announced its entrance into the global market for commercial electric vehicle (EV) chargers. This strategic move follows the company’s recent foray into the home EV charger sector.
Leveraging its extensive experience as a charging point operator in South Korea, Humax is poised to meet the growing demand for EV charging solutions worldwide. The company has developed a range of products to cater to varying customer needs, from slow to fast chargers, suitable for diverse commercial applications.
At The Smarter E Europe 2024, held in Munich from June 19-21, Humax unveiled its comprehensive line-up of commercial and home EV chargers. The event, which is Europe’s largest energy industry exhibition, provided a platform for Humax to establish strategic partnerships and expand its industry network. This move is expected to bolster Humax’s presence in the global market.
A significant highlight of Humax’s global expansion is its partnership with HeyCharge, a German EV charging technology company. This collaboration aims to develop next-generation EV charging stations, focusing on providing convenient and cost-effective solutions for urban multi-family homes and office buildings, where the need for reliable charging infrastructure is particularly pressing.
Humax’s commercial chargers are certified by the Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP), ensuring compliance with international communication standards. These products are designed for smart charging and support two-channel simultaneous charging. Features such as LCD touch screens and LED indicators have been integrated to facilitate efficient monitoring of the charging process.
The company aims to create business opportunities in various markets, including public housing, highway charging stations, shopping malls, and offices. By offering products tailored to meet the requirements of a wide range of vehicle customers, Humax is well-positioned to capitalise on the increasing global distribution rates of electric vehicles.
Following the launch of its commercial chargers, Humax plans to distribute its products across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and North America. This distribution will be carried out under the ‘Turu Charger’ brand, a CPO brand operated by Humax. In the Korean market, Humax has already established itself by building and delivering more than 18,000 EV chargers.
Jeff Kim, President of Humax, expressed his optimism about the company’s global expansion. He stated, “Having successfully launched home EV chargers in Europe, Humax will enter the global commercial EV charger market with a diverse line-up of fast and slow chargers to provide electric vehicle users with a hassle-free driving experience anytime, anywhere.”
Founded in 1989, Humax has grown into a prominent provider of total mobility solutions and services, offering advanced technologies for global operators. The company’s portfolio includes parking operations, shared mobility services, smart building solutions, and all-in-one fleet management systems. Humax’s expertise also encompasses EV charging technology for both domestic and commercial use. With 20 subsidiaries worldwide, Humax is recognised as a leader in technology solutions.
The expansion into the global market for commercial EV chargers represents a significant milestone for Humax. By leveraging its extensive experience and robust network, the company is well-equipped to meet the growing demand for EV charging solutions and contribute to the broader adoption of electric vehicles worldwide.
